The Wall-Flow principle

All CERACLEAN® filters use the Wall-Flow principle.

Cross section of a DPF wall

Each segment of CERACLEAN® diesel particulate filter consists of many parallel channels that are closed at alternating ends. Exhaust gases enter into the filter chamber through the open channels at the inflow end. The pores of the channel walls are only permeable for exhaust gases and the finest possible soot particles are filtered out.

Unique wavy structure

The special design of the CERACLEAN® filter makes the Wall-Flow principle even more effective.

All Saint Gobain diesel particulate filters have channel openings on the inflow side that are larger than the outflow (asymmetric cell design). This is achieved by a specially developed and patented wavy design. Compared to standard square, symmetrical channel forms, the innovative Saint-Gobain cell design reduces the exhaust gas pressure and increases the soot filtration capacity.

That reduces fuel consumption and extends the required maintenance intervals.
